ABSTRACT

Due to their importance, several procedures have been developed to synthesize α-hydroxy-β-amino acids and their derivatives, in both racemic and optically active form. These methods include asymmetric catalytic synthesis, enzymatic kinetic resolution, and the use of chiral auxiliaries and chiral building blocks.1,7 The  enantioselective synthesis α-hydroxy-β-amino acids have attracted a considerable amount of interest in recent years, and several synthetic approaches have been developed for the synthesis of these molecules.7,8-16

The aim of our work is to develop novel synthetic tools dening eco-sustainable reaction protocols by combining the use of green reaction media such as water17 or solvent-free conditions18 (SolFCs) and recoverable and reusable catalysts in order to reduce waste.
