ABSTRACT

The Tour de France is the world’s longest, most watched and probably the most well-known cycling race. According to the Times, it is “arguably the most physiologically demanding of athletic events.” It consists of approximately 20 stages in France with occasional visits to neighboring countries. The Tour started more than a century ago in 1903 and it became very popular, increasing the popularity of cycling as a sport.
