ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the most important statistical graphics to investigate the structure of a single variable. The plots in this chapter can be best categorized by the scale of the variable they display — either continuous or categorical. The latter includes both alphanumerical (nominal) and numerical (possibly ordinal) categorical data.
