ABSTRACT
Interfacial layers are nowadays considered essential elements in organic photovoltaic devices. In this chapter, the different classes of interlayers will be reviewed after introducing the essential concepts related to the role they can play in the solar cells. The deposition methods of these interfacial layers, generally quite thin in comparison with the other layers forming the device structure, are briefly addressed at the end of the chapter.
