ABSTRACT
Horse racing-The file racestalls.dat contains a single variable giving the starting stall of the winners in 144 horse races held in the United States; all 144 races
took place on a circular track and all relate to eight stalls. Starting stall one is closest to the rail on the inside of the track. Interest here lies in assessing whether the chances of a horse winning a race are affected by its position in the starting lineup.
