ABSTRACT
Napthodianthrones are derivatives of anthracene. The napthodianthrones of Hypercium perforatum includes hypericin (Fig. 10.1), pseudohypericin and isohypericin. The fresh plant contains protohypericin and protopseudohypericin and in presence of light, are converted into hypericin and pseudohypericin.1
