A voltage amplifier produces an output voltage that is proportional to the input voltage. Most signals that require magnification are AC.
R1 and R2 provide the proper bias voltage to the base emitter junction. The input signal Vin needs now to be superimposed onto the DC bias level but the signal source should not load the circuit in any way. An isolating input coupling capacitor C1 is inserted to isolate transistor biasF i
voltages from DC voltages from the signal source.
