ABSTRACT

On the contrary, presently we are living in a mobile device-dependent society (most people would find it difficult to live without a mobile phone). With the great adoption of smartphones and the recent availability of open mobile platforms, we believe that the convergence of distributed content sharing, OSNs, sensor networks, and pervasive computing on the mobile phone platform has significantly greater impact. New services for mobile phones have been developed in many OSN sites. For example, at the time of writing this manuscript, Facebook claimed to have more than 100 million mobile users and more than

200 mobile operators in 60 countries working to deploy and promote Facebook mobile products.* However, most approaches simply extend the Web interfaces of social networks to mobile devices (i.e., you can view the social networks through your mobile phone). Currently, people living or working in the same places have a lack of awareness about nearby places, interpersonal affinities, and social events, which they would normally like to visit or attend.
