ABSTRACT

They say that where and the way that you wake up can shape the rest of your day. This is your chance to really set the boss up for a great day. I once worked for a family where Mrs. was friends with music star Sting’s wife, Trudie Styler. She said that Trudie’s chef (who was female) would meet with her over coffee in the morning in one of the private areas of the house. She alleged that the chef could read Trudie’s mood during that time and plan a menu that would “balance her out.” This is private chefing at the highest level and one reason that there are so many successful female private chefs. I am a very capable chef who can handle almost anything, but I do not read my boss’s emotions while relaxing with them. No one wants a giant man in uniform hanging around their wife’s bedroom area in the morning. Female chefs have a real advantage in that department. If you can affect your boss or their family’s mood by their diet, the odds of success are stacked in your favor.
