Safely transferring animals from cage to cage or cage to work area is the first task you need to perform effectively when working with rodents. The demonstrations show various methods of transferring rats from a shoebox cage and subsequent restraint. Watch closely as the technician picks up the rat by the base of the tail. This is the best method to prevent the possibility of stripping the skin off the rat’s tail.
