4 Problem “oscillations”: local oscillatory structure of solutions close to interfaces

As we have seen, the first principal feature of ODEs (9) (and their elliptic counterparts) is that these admit compactly supported solutions. Indeed, all patterns that are interesting for us have finite interfaces. This has been proved in Proposition 1.2 in a general elliptic setting.
