ABSTRACT

The significance of catalytic asymmetric epoxidation (cAE) for synthetic chemistry stems from the relative chemical inertness of olefinic groups that require chemical functionalization before use in fine chemical synthesis. Catalytic asymmetric epoxidation of olefins is a convenient methodology leading to versatile and reactive yet stable intermediates containing one or two stereogenic centers that can be involved in further transformations via asymmetric ring-opening reactions [1].
