ABSTRACT
Hydrogels are cross-linked macromolecules with a 3D network that can entrap substantial amount of aqueous uids. Due to the excellent properties compared to traditional water-absorbing materials, hydrogels have received much attention and are widely used in many elds, such as superabsorbents, tissue engineering, and pollutant adsorption (Lutolf and Hubbell 2005).
