ABSTRACT

The authors’ intention with this book is to offer food for thought and concrete help to as many colleagues as possible in their daily striving to do their best for their patients. A complete coverage of paediatrics was not intended. In order to serve the individualization of paediatrics it was necessary to go beyond generally available knowledge and to include our own insights as well as the fruit of collegial conversations and therapeutic experience. Important areas of paediatrics are not covered in this book: for lack of time, experience or competency. The authors regret this, particularly regarding therapeutic education and child and adolescent psychiatry.
