ABSTRACT

In Chapter 2, several questions were asked regarding the basic functioning of the group that is being used for implementing whatever integration strategy is underway. Often, the group was defined and designed under a different, less intense, form of competition. It is helpful to review some basic principles or ideals that a group might consider in the present environment. The following points are offered for consideration. They simply state what a contracting organization that provides services has to achieve in order to compete with the various accountable care organizations (ACOs) and insurance exchanges that will be contracting for their services.
