ABSTRACT
Someone requesting assistance from a law enforcement entity must have faith and confidence that assistance will be rendered efficiently and effectively within an acceptable period of time. Before someone can summon assistance from a law enforcement organization, some knowledge and understanding regarding the presence of the law enforcement organization must be present in the mind of the individual that requests assistance. Although such knowledge and understanding may be gained from personal experience with a law enforcement organization or its personnel, it may also be gained from a variety of public safety marketing and advertising campaigns.
