ABSTRACT

Nuclear arms control refers to the measures that are created and implemented to regulate, control, reduce, prevent, and/ or abolish the acquisition, distribution, and use of nuclear weapons according to international law. This chapter considers nuclear arms control in detail. The focus of this chapter is on the threat of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), existing measures to counter the proliferation of WMDs, and the future of WMD arms control. Iran and North Korea, among other countries, will be used as case studies in the analysis.
