ABSTRACT
Place patient in recovery position. High-flow 100% oxygen should be administered with or without suction.
• Abortive treatment: − A slow intravenous bolus is given of 4 mg lorazepam, followed by a
second dose after 10 minutes if there is no response. − Outside the hospital, buccal midazolam or rectal diazepam is used. − If seizures persist, a phenytoin infusion should be started.
