ABSTRACT
Contact mechanics is concerned with the determination of stresses and deformation when two bodies are in contact. There are several examples in which a force is applied by a body to another body by physical contact, some of which are given as follows:
i. Contact between a wheel and a rail. Here, both the contacting bodies are considered deformable.
