Subgroup includes carbapenems (imipenem). ◾ Tox: GI (nausea [N], vomiting [V], diarrhea [D]) > allergy > CNS. ◾ Allergy: 5% manifest pcn sensitivities = local pruritus, asthma; 1% develop anaphy-
laxis. Tx: O2, epi-NE, β2-agonists, steroids, H1 and H2 blockers, theophylline, uids. Consider glucagon for severe ↓ BP.
