ABSTRACT
This approach has morphed into recent inquiries into the complex responses of coastal systems to anthropogenic nutrient loading that include interacting forms of toxic effects, habitat loss, responses of modern-day fishing pressure, and the complex effects of bloom species on planktonic assemblages, related biota, and the trophic organization of receiving areas (Livingston, 2000, 2002, 2005).
