ABSTRACT

Internet Use Growth Over 2.4 billion people worldwide, 34% of the world’s population, including nearly 85% of adult Americans, frequently use the Internet.1 Higher percentages of those who are younger, more affluent, and better educated use the Internet for all types of purposes, including communications, social, recreational, and commercial exchanges.2 The Internet has become an essential element of life for government, industry, organizations, and individuals. Telecommunications ride the Internet protocol (IP) backbone. Retailers and government agency services depend on their presence online for services, marketing, billing, and communications.
