ABSTRACT
Complications Injury to the ilioinguinal nerve or genitofemoral nerve can result in chronic groin
pain. Hematoma or seroma may occur. Infections may occur in the wound. If the mesh becomes exposed or infected, it may need to be removed. Mesh can migrate or erode. Recurrence occurs in 1-2% of patients operated for the first time.
