ABSTRACT
Indications Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) involves an extracorporeal circuit consisting of a
membrane oxygenator and blood pump. CPB is indicated when manipulation of the heart compromises hemodynamic stability or when intracardiac surgery is required.
