ABSTRACT

Preop Accurate delineation of the arterial anatomy of the lower extremities is manda­

tory. At present, MRA and CTA have virtually replaced conventional angiography. Duplex venous mapping is used to determine whether or not the great saphenous vein is an adequate conduit. Preoperative cardiac risk stratification and baseline ABI’s are mandatory. Prophylactic antibiotics are ordered and blood is typed and crossed.
