ABSTRACT
Indications Operative intussusception reduction is indicated in patients with intussusceptions
that either cannot be reduced by noninvasive means via air, saline or barium enema, or have contraindications to such attempts (i.e., intestinal perforation, peritonitis, sepsis). High-grade bowel obstruction with markedly distended small bowel loops and/or evidence of bowel perforation are relatively strong contraindications to at tempting intussuception reduction laparoscopically, but they are not absolute.
