ABSTRACT
Preop General anesthesia or regional block is indicated. The patient is positioned in the
supine position with the arms extended at nearly 90° on armboards. The ipsilateral operative arm is prepped into the field. Standard perioperative antibiotic is admin istered prior to incision. Long-acting muscle relaxants should be avoided. Deep venous thrombosis prophylaxis with sequential compression devices should be used.
