Of course, not all planning is done in the planning phase. Some planning is integrated within the execution phase of projects and has been for a long time. For agile projects, this is a major tenet of the methodology. Planning during execution may consist of a substantial amount of the planning. All plans need to expect changes during project execution; however, the amount of planning done during execution for agile projects is usually more substantial than for typical projects. It is definitely more structured.
