ABSTRACT

Worldwide, many universities have taken on this challenge and have set up nanotechnology and nanoscience courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. With this in mind, the manual was developed to present a set of comprehensive nanotechnology-based laboratory exercises designed to introduce, engage, and inspire science and engineering students from various disciplines. e manual assists students to perform simple, straightforward, and interesting experiments in a laboratory setting. It should be pointed out from the start that this manual’s main focus is on the student acquiring experimental techniques and developing

hands-on skills in a laboratory setting. e laboratory exercises presented in Chapter 5 are about synthesizing nanoparticles and nanostructures via a range of wet chemistry pathways and then using various advanced characterization techniques (discussed in Chapter 3) to analyze the nanometer-scale products produced by the students.
