ABSTRACT
Diffusion is transport of a substance from one place to another within one phase without mixing (mechanically or by means of convection). The experiment and theory demonstrate that diffusion takes place at pressure gradient (diffusion under pressure), temperature gradient (thermal diffusion), fields of external forces, and concentration gradient (molecular diffusion). This section considers isothermal isobaric molecular diffusion without gradients conditioned by external-force field.
