Breeding soundness evaluation including complete physical examination, history, and semen analysis (Table 10-1) Clinical signs suggesting that the male dog has a problem with infertility or a disorder affecting the male urogenital tract include: failure of a bitch to conceive; lack of interest or ability in breeding an estrus bitch; abnormalities in the ejaculate; abnormal testes, scrotum, prepuce or penis; discharge from the penis; abdominal pain; and/or pain or abnormalities on urination or defecation.
