ABSTRACT
Science retreated after the dissolution of Alexandria. A Dark Age descended upon Europe. Far from breaking out into a brand new direction, Greek knowledge headed for oblivion. The mental image of our earth degenerated from round to flat. With newfound emphasis on the soul, the Christian intellect withdrew from exploring the cosmos. Geometric architecture of the Greek universe evaporated into spiritual forces.
