ABSTRACT

Without apology, Teradyne calls its business improvement activities TQM, and in 1990, a TQM office was set up under the Companywide Quality Council (CQC).2 Line manager Mike Bradley was installed as the first leader of this tiny office, expecting to serve for up to a couple of years and then rotate back to another line management assignment.3 Throughout the Teradyne mobilization, John Petrolini, a contributor to this book, has served as corporate TQM manager, the key permanent position in the corporate TQM office. He has provided us with his perspective on the Teradyne mobilization story.
