ABSTRACT
With the exception of a few pesticides such as fumigants, pesticides are seldom used in their pure form. The technical-grade chemicals need to rst be formulated as mixtures prior to application. Several thousand pesticides are registered for use by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and sold in interstate commerce. Therefore, it is important to understand the principles involved in formulation since these inuence the use and behavior of pesticides.
