Vibroacoustics deals with the interaction of sound waves and vibrating structures. Figure 1.1 provides a schematic of the problem and Figure 1.2 provides an example from the automotive industry. The generic structure is a homogeneous or a multilayered structure made up of various materials. It encompasses a cavity and is immersed in a fluid.
