ABSTRACT

Classical sulfonated poly(phenylene)s (SPPs) provide advantages as polymer electrolyte membranes (PEMs) due to the lack of hetero linkages in their polymer backbones. Owing to the high C-C bond dissociation energy of phenyl-phenyl group (478.6 ±6.3 KJ mol−1, 298 K) [1,2], these chemically stable polymers have drawn many attentions as PEM candidates.
