ABSTRACT

Our focus has been on showing how specific infectious disease models can be used to gain insights into infectious disease control. The models are formulated to reflect how person-to-person transmission occurs and therefore seem plausible. However, we have deliberately kept models simple and it is possible that a crucial characteristic of the infection’s transmission in our community is not captured by the proposed model. Whenever possible, we should check that descriptions provided by our model are in accordance with observed data.
