ABSTRACT

Robots are quite complex machines that can sense information from their surrounding environment, autonomously make effective decisions, and manipulate the surrounding environment with effectors. Just as in the case of any other complex engineering systems, robots also require preventive and corrective maintenance. Therefore, it is very important that users of robots devise an effective maintenance program as, otherwise, the unscheduled downtime of robots may increase. Furthermore, a poor maintenance program may result in safety problems as well.
