ABSTRACT
Three indexes of asphalt are the key performance factors. So studying asphalt performance usually starts from studying its three performance indexes. Asphalt is inevitably affected by water, high temperature, low temperature, force during the process of mixing, construction and usage, which accelerate asphalt’s ageing, and speeding up the reduction in its performance and shorten its lifetime. However, we often questioned, only a short time ago, the ageing test (such as heating test of 163◦ with RTFOT) and it was not accurate enough to simulate asphalt’s ageing degree over different ageing times.
