ABSTRACT
Most of us are familiar with how the same object may be described quite differently in different countries. Even when the countries speak nominally the same language, items will be described quite differently. For example, in my car, the spare tire is kept in the trunk. But to others, a trunk is a very large piece of luggage. An Englishman keeps his extra tire in the boot. To me, a boot is a piece of western footwear. We could go on this way forever, but this gives us enough to make the point that context and source of a remark or question greatly affects the meaning.
