ABSTRACT
A scalar field associates a numerical (scalar) value called magnitude
to every point of the system (space), while a vector field is a
quantity to which at every point of the system, a magnitude and
direction are assigned. Examples of scalar fields are temperature,
concentration, pressure, and density; examples of vector fields are
force and velocity.
