ABSTRACT
In this chapter we will discuss the impact that nanomedicine is
expected to have on specific disease areas and selected areas of
importance for medicine.
While DNA and RNA sequencing are expected to have the biggest
impact as we are entering the era of genomic medicine, other
nanomedical advances such as targeted drug delivery, nanodiagnos-
tics, and regenerative medicine will not be far behind, in particular
when combined with medical devices and micro-/nanoprocessor-
enabled implants.
