ABSTRACT
TRY as we might, it is not possible to express all systems of equations in the linearframework we have developed over the last several chapters. Logarithms, exponentials, trigonometric functions, absolute values, polynomials, and so on are commonplace in practical problems, but none of these functions is linear. When these functions appear, we must employ a more general-but often less efficient-toolbox for nonlinear problems.
