ABSTRACT

Most biopsies are currently performed for parenchymal disease not to make specific diagnosis but to assess the liver damage (the degree of inflammation, fibrosis) or the response to therapy. One of the main complications of the procedure, after pain, is bleeding, which can be major or minor. The risk of major bleeding is reported to be around 0.16%. In this case, the needle entry site and the surrounding parenchyma hemorrhage are clearly visible.
