ABSTRACT

The fast-changing health care system is driving the development of new models of care. The traditional face-to-face visit is being replaced by models predicated on new technology, new processes, new providers, and new mindsets. The role of a clinical leader in these rapidly emerging models of care is to leverage not only new technical clinical skills but also new management and leadership skills for future success. To succeed in delivering these innovative care models, clinical leaders must be adept at data analysis, population health, partnership, and change management. Evidence backing new models of care delivery is mounting as retail medicine, population health, and mobile health are drastically altering health care delivery.
