ABSTRACT
This chapter includes a research-based summary of the current economic situation of the fifty-one small, isolated cities that serve as case studies in this research. To a very great extent, an Internet search produces little on many of the cities. The best sources are their (often overly promotional) websites and Wikipedia. Because they are small and isolated, their often rich histories garner little attention, and economic successes or challenges are not given great coverage.
