Overestimated Threat

Terrorism ranks high on political agendas and has often been listed as a top-tier security threat. In the aftermath of 9/11, many observers and policy officials warned that the attack was just the beginning of an impending wave of terrorist attacks to be carried out in the United States and across the West. This has largely not materialized.
