ABSTRACT

Environmental management must consider all seven steps presented in Chapter 1, simultaneously or expressed differently. All the tool boxes must be applied and integrated into a concerted effort to be able to go from a complex environmental problem to the solution. We need to integrate the entire spectrum of knowledge about the problem and its sources, effects and the knowledge gained by the use of the diagnostic tools which will lead us to a composite, combined application of the solution tool boxes. The goal is to solve the problem including the side problems and all derived problems, proximate as well as distanced. It is important in the process of solving one focal environmental problem not to create new and eventually overlooked environmental problems.
