ABSTRACT
Crime scene staging research has demonstrated that most oenders who stage crime scenes are male, most victims of staged crime scenes are female, and the most common victim-oender relationship involving staging is intimate partner relationships, such as spouses, ex-spouses, current and former girlfriends and boyfriends, and other types of intimate relationships (Eke, 2007; Ferguson, 2011; Pettler, 2011). erefore, in order to understand more about crime scene staging at this point in the research, one must do a deep dive into the world of intimate partner violence (IPV) because IPV and crime scene staging empirically go hand in hand.
