Flory at Esso 1940–1943

Although Paul Flory preferred an unfettered research environment, he could not refuse a good industrial offer from the Esso Laboratories (Figure 7.1) of the Standard Oil Development Company in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He joined them in 1940.
